Assisi Sneha Bhavan is an elderly care home run and managed by the Franciscan TOR friars of St. Louis Province, Bangalore. Imbibing the spirit of Father Francis who was simple and pure heart, in all humility and charity friars extend sincere love and Service to the senior citizens. Assisi Sneha Bhavan was started in the year 2000, when Fr. Matthew Puthenparambil was the minister Provincial and the founding director was Late Fr. Louis Kakkanat TOR. Over the past 22 years of its existence many friars have involved in the works of mercy and caring the elderly. The elderly care home admits the aged, poor and homeless, both men and women.
Assisi Sneha Bhavan is a registered institution under the Orphanage Control Board, Trivandrum, Kerala. The elderly care home admits the aged, poor and homeless, both men and women. So far the home has given shelter to about 200 seniors. Besides the TOR Friars, the Franciscan Sisters of the Sacred Heart (FSSH) are also involved in the care of the elderly. There are very experienced and dedicated staff members to look after the poor and sickly, day and night. Admission is open to those who are poor and elderly, and no one to care for them. Besides the bed and board, the residents are made available the medical helps of local private and public hospitals. Since Assisi Sneha Bhavan is located not far away from Vadakkencherry Town (2 kms) and close to Palakkad –Thrissur High Way, it has better approachability. The home is built on one end of a property where there is a lot of place for the residents to walk around and enjoy the beauty of green trees of every kind, a fish pond and cattle.
