EDUCATION MINISTRY

“In the tradition of the Order, the ministry of education is seen as a work of mercy. This ministry strives to adapt itself to the circumstances of our times in such a way as to lead people to the full realization of their human dignity and their divine destiny. The ministry to educate is best realized when the friars dedicate themselves to the education of the poor.” (TOR Constitutions 151)

The heart of education is the education of hearts. To educate hearts in today’s world, we not only need   brains and buildings but also hearts that are constantly being filled by the love of Christ. Enriched by the love from the Heart of Jesus, Friars serving in the  educational ministry of the Order strive to  transform the society towards greater wholeness.

Hence, building up a society based on the values of  human dignity, universal brotherhood, equality and justice become the vision of TOR education ministry.  The TOR Friars believe that education is an ongoing process of empowering the body, mind and the spirit of persons so that they  discover their true  positive potential  and become what they are truly capable of. Through this ministry, the friars help our students discover the beauty and glory of God reflected in and through all  of God’s creation.  That way, our educational ministry endeavours  would be significantly different from the education being imparted by others.
